Transforming What Is Ours
Transformar lo propio is an exhibition created in dialogue with my father, artist Pájaro Gómez.
The project brings together two generations, two artistic languages, and two distinct ways of working. Rather than creating a single work together, we each begin from our own fully developed pieces, allowing elements of the other’s language to enter, intervene, and transform them.
We chose performance as a way to make the creative process visible, allowing transformation to become an experience rather than just a finished work.
As French philosopher Yves Michaud suggests, art can move beyond contemplation to become an experience.
While the artworks reveal the result of an exchange, the performance allows us to witness that transformation as it unfolds.
